Our dog leads:
Extra grip - Extra strong - Solid brass - Stainless steel - Hand crafted - Premium dog leads - Made in the UK
In our modern world there are so many different dog leads to choose from - bungee leads, multiple handle leads, training leads, running leads, slip leads, extendable leads, traffic leads, caribena leads, frog clip leads, rope, webbing, leather, biothane leads and the list goes on! So what makes our dog leads worth considering?
Primarily we have focused on simplicity which has successfully passed the tests of time and also offers excellent practicality for users. Further to that in order to absolutely ensure strength and long term reliability we only use the highest quality materials providing a truly secure connection and one that you can trust. Our dog leads guarantee a simplistic, premium look and feel.
All of our dog leads are patiently hand-crafted in the UK from start to finish using a mix of traditional crafting methods and carefully selected premium materials. Our leads have been specifically designed to be very strong and durable whilst also offering an added level of grip from our non-stretch cotton webbing with woven-in rubber tracers. This lightweight webbing is comfortable to hold with excellent grip (no rope burns) and has an impressive breaking load rating of 160kg ensuring even the strongest of pullers will remain safe and secure at your side.
All of the metal hardware including the handle O-ring are cast from either solid brass or stainless steel - both are extremely strong, durable and corrosion resistant. This resistance provides far superior longevity compared to cheaper and weaker chrome plated metals like Nickel and Zinc-alloy often used by other dog lead makers. Our solid brass and stainless steel traditional design trigger snap hooks both weigh 53 grams and have impressive breaking load ratings of brass: 200kg and stainless: 250kg.
Our dog leads are made from a tried and tested design process of folds that are cemented with a non toxic crafting cement for extra strength, and then they are permanently secured with a red hot punch and traditional riveting. The rivets we use are the best of the best solid brass traditional saddlers rivets and burrs. These rivets are incredibly strong and are permanently set so there is no way they can come apart under pressure like capped rivets for example. Our solid brass saddlers rivets (despite being harder to work with compared to the more commonly used softer copper saddlers rivets) are a must so we can provide the absolute strongest option and one that also matches the brass hardware. Or, if you prefer chrome/silver hardware we use a stainless steel (AISI 304) trigger snap hook and O-ring. This option is a nice mix of silver coloured stainless steel and the brass rivets, unfortunately we can’t use silver coloured saddlers rivets for a full match because they are only available in aluminium and this metal is much softer and not strong enough to meet our high standards. As you can see from reading the above details we like to explain to our customers exactly what materials our dog leads are made from and also offer some insight in how they are made.
Our leads are made to a standard length which we think is correct for giving your dog enough freedom but also keeping him/her close enough for absolute control. The standard length is approximately 155cm. If you require even closer control we also offer a shorter version which is approximately 115cm in length. All dog leads have a width of 2cm (20mm) and are 3mm in thickness.
All breaking load ratings listed are for the individual materials used to make our dog leads and are confirmed directly from the suppliers.
Please store our leads in a dry shaded space and allow them to dry out naturally if they have been exposed to water.
We specialise in dog leads and currently do not offer collars and harnesses.
Please note: because of the challenging setting of solid brass saddlers rivets each lead takes at least one hour (usually longer) to complete and so the price reflects on the time it takes and also the high quality materials used.
Any problems with any of our leads please email us and we will do our absolute best to address the matter for you immediately.
